Faire is the Heaven

…Ottawa's Ars Nova concert series is presenting Nordic Voices, a group founded in 1996 by six graduates of the State Academy of Music in Oslo. The singers, who perform a cappella, have a repertoire ranging from medieval music to contemporary Norwegian pieces…

The choir will present excerpts from a recent recording for the Chandos label, including music by Norwegian composer Henrik Odegaard, Renaissance-era music by Pierre de Manchicourt and Poulenc's O Magnum Mysterium.

…The Cantata Singers…concert will include John Rutter's Gloria, William Harris's Faire is the Heaven, Parry's I Was Glad When They Said Unto Me and John Tavener's haunting Song for Athene, the 1993 piece that was performed at the funeral of Diana, Princess of Wales….
